Partnerships for Families (PFF)

ABOUT PARTNERSHIPS FOR FAMILIES (PFF)

PFF is a program funded by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) that is designed to strengthen protective factors in families and to prevent child abuse. Voluntary prevention services developed by PFF are offered for 6 to 12 months to pregnant women and families with children 5 and younger who are at high risk for child maltreatment. Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) is providing PFF for the Asian American/Pacific community with other partnering organizations to improve outcomes at family and community levels.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY PFF INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • General Counseling
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Case Management
  • Concrete Support
  • Psychotherapy

SERVICES PROVIDED IN FOLLOWING LANGUAGES

  • Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese)
  • Korean
  • Tagalog

All other API languages can be serviced through an interpreter.

WHO IS SERVED BY THIS PROGRAM?

Partnerships for Families was created to improve the quality of life for children from the prenatal stage through age 5.

The target population is pregnant women or families with one or more children age 5 or younger who have one or more of the following risk factors for child maltreatment:

  • Domestic violence
  • Substance abuse
  • Mental health-related issues (e.g., postpartum depression/anxiety)
  • Young age (e.g., teen parents)
  • High-risk families referred to PFF by the Department of Children and Family Services
