Environmental Services Spreads Awareness about the Los Angeles Urban Forestry Management Plan

Throughout the month of February, KYCC Environmental Services partnered with the County and City of Los Angeles in support of the outreach efforts for the Los Angeles Urban Forestry Management Plan (LAUFMP). The LAUFMP aimed to gather input and viewpoints from community members throughout the City and County of Los Angeles regarding trees, seeking community input on issues such as current tree care, tree coverage, and urban forestry services they would like to see improved or altered.
Environmental Services Hosts Koreatown Environmental Clean Up Day

On Saturday, February 17, 2024 KYCC Environmental Services partnered with the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council to host the first Koreatown Environmental Clean Up Day. The event was established by Daniela Flores, Environmental Services’ Community Engagement Specialist, who upon attending a Neighborhood Council meeting decided to collaborate on a neighborhood clean up event.
KYCC Celebrates Korean Heritage Day with the Los Angeles Clippers

KYCC hosted Korean Heritage Day for the 5th year with the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles. The 2:30 p.m. game against the Brooklyn Nets team celebrated the Los Angeles Korean American community by honoring Korean culture and celebrating KYCC as the Nonprofit of the Game!
KYCC Celebrates 30th Annual Holiday Carnival at Hobart Blvd. Elementary School

This year KYCC celebrated the holidays with our community, at our 30th Annual Holiday Carnival! On December 9, 2023, thousands of KYCC clients, community members, and their families joined us at Hobart Elementary School to enjoy free, hand-wrapped gifts from Santa, arts and crafts, carnival games, and entertainment by J.U.i.C.E. hip hop, Hwarang/Nanta Drummers and Larchmont Charter High School Choir. This year’s Holiday Carnival served 594 households and over 1,000 toys were given away!
KYCC’s Prevention Education Hosts MYPARC Leadership Program

From March through November, KYCC’s MYPARC Leadership Program hosted a 10-month hybrid internship guided by the Youth Participatory Action Research framework, that allows high school students to enhance their leadership, advocacy, and research skills to promote community wellness and a safe environment at MacArthur Park.
