On Saturday, February 17, 2024 KYCC Environmental Services partnered with the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council to host the first Koreatown Environmental Clean Up Day.

The event was established by Daniela Flores, Environmental Services’ Community Engagement Specialist, who upon attending a Neighborhood Council meeting decided to collaborate on a neighborhood clean up event.

Over 128 volunteers attended the event and 57 trash bags were picked up covering approximately 7.6 miles of streets in Koreatown.

“Actively seeing our community come together to beautify Koreatown proves how important it is to keep our city clean. With the help of all of the volunteers and partners we were able to pick up 57 bags of trash and clean-up 7.6 miles of the public right-of-way,” says Daniela.

Special thank you to event partners for making this cleanup possible LAPD, METRO, PAVA World, Radio Seoul, Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council and Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles.
