KYCC is proud to announce that this year’s Annual Benefit Concert, with special thanks to Title Sponsor Nissan, raised nearly $400,000 for our programs that support individuals, children and families of Koreatown and Greater Los Angeles on Aug. 4.

Over 1,350 people attended our show, which was held at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. Danny Im, hip-hop artist and former host of MNET’s Danny From LA, was the night’s emcee.

The evening started with the Korean American Youth Symphony, under the auspices of the our co-host, the Korean American Music Foundation, performing the Finale from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. Korean classical pop singer Ji Eun Lim sang the beautiful “You Raise Me Up,” followed by Korean American K-Pop ballad singer Tim Hwang performing his hit “Saranghapnida.” Julliard-trained Esther Keel played a rousing version of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”

After the intermission, eSNA, a singer-songwriter and produced based in Los Angeles, sang a three-song set. Then Eric Nam, GQ Korea’s 2016 Man of the Year, Korean TV personality and singer-songwriter, wowed the crowds with three of his hits. Shawn Stockman, from legendary R&B group BoysIIMen, closed the evening with his set, which included Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” and ending the evening with BoysIIMen’s “Water Runs Dry.”
