On May 12, KYCC’s Community Economic Development unit participated in California Reinvestment Coalition’s (CRC) consumer protection training. Hosted by East Los Angeles Community Corporation (ELACC), the workshop “Winning and Defending Strong CFPB Rules to End High Cost Debt Traps” focused on reporting predatory lending practices and overdraft fees.
“KYCC is a CRC partner,” said Small Business Counselor Young-Gi Harabedian. “We are committed to cooperating with the policy advocacy organization by filing complaints to the California Financial Protection Bureau on bank overdraft fees and abusive “Pay Day” predatory loans made to our clients.”
