KYCC’s Prevention Education and Co-PALM (Coalition to Prevent Alcohol-Related Harms) will co-host a town hall meeting on underage drinking in Los Angeles on Tues., June 2.

The town hall—“Alcohol: A Minor Problem?”—will address the problem of underage drinking and discuss proposed solutions from the community. The three issue areas are alcohol-outlet density, media messaging and cultural behaviors that influence underage drinking.

KYCC is working in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Division, in implementing an environmental prevention effort that is aimed at addressing the use of alcohol and marijuana among youth and young adults. KYCC’s Prevention Education unit provides community members with the necessary resources to advocate for themselves and the health and safety of their communities.
