On Sunday, September 30, 2018, Celebrate LA! L.A. Phil 100 x and CicLAvia brought thousands of pedestrians, bicyclists, musicians and politicians together for a massive eight-mile street party. From Walt Disney Concert Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, roadways were closed down to vehicle traffic and along the route food trucks lined up, musicians and dancers performed, and fun, family-friendly activities were available for all to enjoy.

As part of LA Phil’s Centennial season celebration, KYCC took part in the “Adopt-An-Intersection” program and set up six booths to engage pedestrian and bicycle traffic at the intersection of 6th and Western. This event was our first all-agency outreach where all units participated. Thousands of CicLAvia participants came through our designated intersection and heard about our new trilingual mental health awareness campaign and our new vintage clothing store Vintage Soul. Visitors who stopped by our booth also got to face paint, pet our therapy dog Ruby, take pictures at our Photo Booth, play our giant jingo, and take home free shade trees.

“I am so proud of our agency’s spirit and hard work yesterday at the Celebrate LA! LA Phil 100 x CicLAVia event. A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out to outreach, volunteer for CicLAVia, and support our all-agency outreach effort, especially on a hot Sunday. ” Katherine Kim, Communications Editor, who organized this collaboration.
