In March, KYCC kicked off its newest campaign to help beautify the streets of Koreatown. Since beginning, we have hosted two successful cleanup events and engaged over 90 volunteers, including community members and local youth from Hwarang Youth Foundation, who have collected 65 bags of loose litter from blocks across our neighborhood.

“Collaboration is an important part of beautification. The unity and optimism that a cleanup event brings can be rewarding to yourself, and also to the community around you,” says Alberto Soria, Environmental Services Beautification Coordinator. “Without the support of our community members in these clean ups, our neighborhoods would not look the same, so thank you!”

We invite you to join us each month as we continue to work alongside our community to keep our streets beautiful. Cleanup events are currently hosted throughout Koreatown on the first Saturday, third Thursday, and third Saturday of each month, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Stay tuned to our social media channels, @KYCCLA, for details and more information.

Thank you to all of our community who have joined us this month to help keep our neighborhood beautiful, safe, and clean. Additional thanks to Council District 13 for their support of this initiative.
