This year KYCC celebrated the holidays with our community, as we brought our full-scale Holiday Carnival back to Koreatown! On December 3, 2022, thousands of KYCC clients, community members, and their families joined us at Los Angeles Elementary School to enjoy free, hand-wrapped gifts from Santa, arts and crafts, carnival games, and entertainment by M.I.S.T.A. Cookie Jar and J.U.i.C.E. hip hop. This year’s Holiday Carnival served 522 households, including 980 children!

Free resources and activities were also provided by our community partners Starbucks, Los Angeles Clippers, LA County Board of Supervisors Holly Mitchell, Karsh Center, Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, Los Angeles Elementary School, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, KAWA, Koreatown Pico Union Community of Schools, Pathways, Natural History Museum, PCB Bank, US Bank, California Highway Patrol, and LAPD Olympic.
Our Holiday Carnival would not be possible without the dedication of our staff and volunteers. Each year, volunteers and KYCC staff donate thousands of dollars to buy new toys and spend hours hosting this special event. This holiday tradition was first started by KYCC staff almost 30 years ago as a way for us to say thank you to our community, and still remains a very special community event decades later.
A huge thank you to all of our event sponsors for their support and partnership in making this event a big success! Arts and Crafts Sponsor US Bank, Equipment Sponsor Heather Hutt, Food Sponsor LA County Board of Supervisors Holly Mitchell, Game Sponsor SoCalGas, Toy Sponsors Eisner Foundation, Mattel, and Yes Sales Inc., and Volunteer Sponsor Health Net
