KYCC Celebrates 50th Anniversary Benefit Concert at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall

KYCC hosted its 50th Anniversary Benefit Concert at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday, August 21, 2025, gathering over 1,800 community members, funders, partners, and KYCC staff to celebrate five decades of KYCC’s impact throughout Koreatown. With our Title Sponsor Wells Fargo, this year’s event raised over $720,000 of unrestricted funds to support KYCC’s programs that help children and families across Los Angeles thrive at every stage of life.

An unforgettable evening unfolded at one of Los Angeles’s most iconic stages, as Kim Tae Woo, of the legendary K-pop group g.o.d., took the stage alongside Grammy-nominated R&B artist Eric Benét and acclaimed recording artist Trish Toledo. The performances were backed by the 60-piece Korean American Youth Symphony, captivating the audience with a seamless blend of cultural and musical artistry. The concert was co-hosted by esteemed KCAL News anchor, Suzie Suh, and Korean American rapper, actor, and writer Jonnie “Dumbfoundead” Park.

This event paid tribute to KYCC’s half-century of dedicated service to Los Angeles’ Koreatown and its neighboring communities, showcasing the organization’s influence in aiding youth, families, and underserved groups through various social services, education, mental health initiatives, and economic development programs. All proceeds went directly towards supporting KYCC’s programs for low-income children and families.

“This year signifies a milestone of 50 years as a nonprofit organization. KYCC’s 50th Anniversary Benefit Concert is an opportunity to celebrate with our sponsors, stakeholders, and friends with an evening of music and entertainment,” says Johng Ho Song, KYCC’s Executive Director. “However, this event is not only a celebration of our past but also a time to share our vision for a future that  brings us closer together to support Koreatown’s families, businesses, and community.”

As we commemorate half a century of service, the need for KYCC’s programs is at an all-time high. Economic uncertainty, increasing mental health demands, and the challenges faced by immigrant communities mark a pivotal moment for our organization. This year, your support represents an investment in the future—enhancing our impact, broadening our services, and securing a brighter tomorrow for many years to come.
