Eric

While he was in high school, Eric was involved with KYCC as a high school leadership program participant and a volunteer tax preparer. The summer before entering college—he’s a third-year student at CalPoly Pomona—Eric served as a Summer Youth Supervisor through the Environmental Services Summer Youth Program. Funded by a generous grant from Nissan North America and the Office of Community Beautification (OCB), Eric oversaw a team of his peers working twenty hours a week on city rejuvenation projects such as tree planting, graffiti cleanup and trash removal. As a volunteer with youth, Eric loved the opportunity to work with kids who looked up to him as a role model and enjoyed being able to set a precedent for their generation. In turn, he also credits the kids with teaching him to be more positive and lighthearted.

“All of these smaller branches of KYCC go off and make their own unique impacts on the Koreatown community. The help that the community receives is very personal and one-on-one.”

—Eric Lee, Environmental Services Summer Youth Supervisor
