Clinical Service Family Day Brings Koreatown Families Together Through Connection and Community

On June 19, 2026 KYCC Clinical Services welcomed 80 parents and children to the UCLA Labor Center for Family Day, a special event designed to strengthen family relationships and connect families with valuable community resources.

Building on the success of our annual Portrait Day, this year’s event expanded into Family Day, creating even more opportunities for families to spend quality time together through engaging activities that promoted healthy relationships, connection, and joy. Families also received a complimentary family portrait session and a framed print to commemorate the day.

Made possible through the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health SAPC’s RYSE UP funding and in partnership with Las Fotos Project, Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California, the UCLA Labor Center, and several KYCC programs including Environmental Services, Community Economic Development, and Kids Town Preschool, the event brought together community organizations to connect families with valuable resources and support while creating a welcoming space to build community and forge new connections.

«It was an amazing opportunity for families to make fun memories together, receive a free family portrait session with a framed print, and to get linked up with helpful resources in their community,» shared Grace Park, KYCC’s Clinical Services Manager.

One parent expressed gratitude for the event, noting how meaningful it was to have opportunities like Family Day in Koreatown, where family-centered events can be difficult to find.

By creating spaces where families can connect, celebrate, and access community resources, KYCC continues its commitment to supporting the health and well-being of children, parents, and the broader Koreatown community.
