Even before the doors opened to KYCC’s Annual Holiday Carnival at Wilshire Park Elementary School on Dec. 8, children and their families from Koreatown lined up down and around the block. This year, there were over 2,700 attendees, who enjoyed the game booths, inflatables, petting zoo, art and crafts, and face painting. Former LA Dodger Sweet “Lou” Johnson greeted fans and called out raffle ticket numbers, and Ronald McDonald took photos with families and performed a magic show on stage. The Red Cross followed with a puppet show on safety and musical performances included So-Cal Beatbox champion James Kim; Student Maraichi Band; and Xipetotec, an Aztec dance troupe. Over 1,500 wrapped holiday gifts were distributed to every child who attended the carnival!
