The Coalition for Prevention and Awareness in LA Metro (CoPALM) collaborated with seven small businesses to launch the Table Top Campaign for this year’s July 4 weekend. CoPALM’s Table Top Campaign disseminated approximately 900 coasters and 54 table tops with anti-drunk driving messaging in English and Spanish. The educational materials were displayed at bars and restaurants, reminding customers to drink responsibly and practice safe driving habits during a major drinking holiday. CoPALM continuously strives to launch educational campaigns like this to raise awareness and prevent drunk driving specifically around major holidays like Cinco de Mayo and July 4.

The Coalition for Prevention and Awareness in LA Metro (CoPALM) was launched by a group of concerned community members and stakeholders to address the impact of alcohol, marijuana, prescription medication, and other drugs in the community. The Table Top Campaign (TTC) is a project first launched in Spring 2019 that aims to address the consequences of drunk driving and focuses its efforts in areas of Los Angeles with a large alcohol outlet concentration. Materials such as coasters and table tents with a creative design and prevention messaging are developed for display at local restaurants and bars. Since the launch of the campaign in 2019, CoPALM has partnered with 34 businesses throughout SPA-4 and disseminated over 2,600 educational, anti-drunk driving materials.
