On Aug .1, KYCC held its highly anticipated 12th Annual Benefit Concert at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall. Led by spirited conductor Seung Ju Kim, the Korean American Youth Symphony opened up the night and awed the audience with skills beyond their age. Violinist Yoon-Hee Kim’s lively Sarasate pieces and pianist Sandra Nam’s graceful Beethoven piece followed soon after. After the intermission, the five -time Grammy nominee David Benoit led the symphony into various songs including his jazzy rendition of Bach —“ReBach.” To close off the night, the renowned R&B singer-songwriter Brian McKnight wooed the hearts of the audience with classics including “Still” and “Back at One.” KYCC would like to thank Nissan, Bank of America, Citibank, U.S. Bank, Hanmi Bank, Cathay Bank, Comerica, Duracoat, LA18, Open Bank and Union Bank for their support in making this concert a great success.
