KYCC’s newest social enterprise, Vintage Soul, is a curated secondhand and vintage boutique in the heart of Los Angeles’ Koreatown. Specializing in iconic and one-of-a-kind items, Vintage Soul hope creates a sustainable retail experience that promotes social good and gives back to the Koreatown community. 100% of the proceeds from Vintage Soul will help fund KYCC’s youth programs. The boutique, the first of its kind in the area, celebrates the energy, history, style and spirit of Koreatown— the very soul of the neighborhood.

Vintage Soul models a new method of nonprofit retail by upcycling unwanted garments purchased from customers. The store carries a curated range of styles from daily essentials like Levi’s 501s to covetable one-of-a-kind designer pieces. With an ever-changing inventory, customers will discover something new every time they shop our store on Wilshire Blvd., or online on our website.  The price point is comparable to other youth-oriented brands, making Vintage Soul an accessible alternative for young, eco-conscious shoppers. With a growing Instagram following and e-commerce platform, the store hopes to reach a global consumer base.

The Grand Opening on March 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. was attended by over 100 people. Koreatown locals, KYCC supporters and staff enjoyed light refreshments, live portrait illustrations by fashion illustrator Karen Koh, raffle prizes that included a vintage Chanel handbag and entertainment by emcees Nancy Yoon and Alex Koh of Asians in LA. Attendees were also able to shop Vintage Soul’s hand-picked collection of women’s and men’s clothing, accessories and handbags.
