This year, due to the ongoing pandemic, our annual Holiday Carnival was a walk-thru event held exclusively for current clients and residents of our affordable housing apartments. On December 11, 2021, hundreds of KYCC clients and their families enjoyed free, hand-wrapped gifts from Santa, free resources from Council District 10 and the YMCA, arts and craft kits, candy canes, entertainment and photo opportunities with Elmo, Olaf, Anna and Elsa. 

Hundreds of families were greeted by friendly KYCC staff, at the entrance of the KOA parking lot, where they checked in for their assigned arrival times. In order to ensure the safety of our staff and the hundreds of families we serve, each family was given a limited time to walk through the various booths. 

This special holiday event would not be possible without the dedication of our staff and volunteers. Each year, volunteers and KYCC staff donate hundreds of dollars to buy new toys and spend hours hosting this special event. This holiday tradition was first started by KYCC staff almost 30 years ago, and still remains a special community event decades later. Our annual Holiday Carnival still supports struggling families during the holiday season and brings holiday cheer and joy to those in need.
