On April 19, KYCC hosted its 14th Annual FORE Children and Families Golf Classic at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, California.

Proceeds from the FORE Children & Families Golf Classic are used to support KYCC’s high-quality services, including early childhood education, after-school programs, youth development, mental health services, affordable housing, financial education and environmental services, such as tree planting and graffiti removal. 

 

The Monday was sunny and breezy–perfect conditions for golfing and charity. Players competed in 36 teams of four in an exciting, 18-hole golf tournament that lasted all day. Upon check-in, participants were given gift bags, lunch boxes, and entered into a raffle to win prizes.

 

Executive Director Johng Ho Song and KYCC staff welcomed players as they arrived at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, California. After an afternoon of golf, staff and tournament guests retired to the enjoy a dinner and a raffle at Strawberry Farms’ Big Red Barn. 

This year’s Golf Tournament aimed to raise awareness for child abuse, the importance of strengthening the Protective Factors and reducing Adverse Childhood Experiences in honor of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month. KYCC’s Chief Program Officer, Francesca LeRúe, shared briefly on the importance of strengthening the Protective Factors through our program work in Clinical Services, Recovery Services, Youth Services and Prevention Education.
