KYCC, in partnership with the Knowledge Empowers Youth (KEY) workgroup, hosted “Unlock Your New Year” at the East Los Angeles Service Center on January 18, 2019. 

The #WEEDecide group was renamed as the KEY workgroup and refocused their youth workshops to raising awareness about marijuana use among youth, drug prevention, education and leadership opportunities. The “Unlock Your New Year” event was a collaborative event with other providers from Los Angeles County that work with middle and high school aged youth. Partially funded by the LA County Department of Public Health, the event provided a networking opportunity for 25 youth and featured several alternative activities to drug use. 30 youth and 4 different community organizations joined this year’s “Unlock Your New Year” event.
