KYCC has been awarded a generous $75,000 grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation to support programs for limited-income youth and families in Koreatown.
The funding provided by the Foundation will be utilized for KYCC’s programs and services that support the needs of children and families in our immediate community. These funds will also aid in the expansion of KYCC’s administrative and development staff, as well as provide support for KYCC’s upcoming permanent affordable housing projects for formerly homeless individuals.
In addition to continuing existing services, KYCC has launched new services to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – some of these services include delivering 12,000 hot meals and groceries to vulnerable seniors, as well as providing assistance in accessing public benefits such as unemployment insurance, SBA loans, and utility assistance.

We are very grateful for the opportunity for our staff to continue serving the needs of the Koreatown community. Ongoing commitment from the Foundation allows us to do so, especially during this critical time when so many of our families continue to be impacted by the pandemic,” said Johng Ho Song, KYCC’s Executive Director.
The S. Mark Taper Foundation was founded in 1989 and is a private family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of people’s lives by supporting nonprofit organizations and their work in communities across Southern California and is a long-time supporter of KYCC.
