We would like to take this opportunity to recognize California ReLeaf (CA ReLeaf) for their support in greening Koreatown. CA ReLeaf is a nonprofit organization that empowers grassroots efforts and builds strategic partnerships that preserve, protect and enhance California’s urban and community forests. Our partnership began in 2009, when CA ReLeaf provided $158,000 in grants for tree planting organized throughout South Los Angeles. Since then, CA ReLeaf has also funded KYCC’s efforts for annual Arbor Day and travel expenses for environmental conferences. In July of this year, CA ReLeaf awarded KYCC $5,000 to organize community members in planting trees throughout South Los Angeles and Willowbrook.
