KYCC Host 4th Annual Unwind Your Mind Youth Summit
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, KYCC proudly hosted its 4th Annual Unwind Your Mind Koreatown Youth Summit. This gathering brought together high school students from our community to delve into important topics, enhance essential skills, and connect with resources that foster their personal and academic development.
Throughout the day, a total of 75 high school students to participate in a range of activities, including youth-led workshops that provided a valuable platform for sharing insights and experiences related to mental health, a career panel, and workshops dedicated to crafting personal statements. With the support of 30 staff members from KYCC’s Prevention Education Unit, Clinical Services, and Youth Services, the event was thoughtfully organized to foster a welcoming, safe, and enriching environment for every participant.
The goal of this event was to unite high school students from our community in a collaborative and nurturing environment. This setting aimed to encourage thoughtful dialogue, cultivate essential life skills, and provide access to valuable resources that support both academic and personal development.
Through a series of structured discussions and engaging workshops, the event empowered young individuals to confidently tackle challenges and pursue excellence in every facet of their lives.
A standout feature of the day was the resource fair, where students had the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of community partners. These included PlusMe, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), Koreatown Storytelling Program, Boyle Heights Beat, the Center for the Pacific Asian Family, and the Chinatown Service Center – Behavioral Health Division. These organizations provided valuable resources, insights, and opportunities tailored to the interests and needs of our youth.
Additionally, participants had access to essential resources and enjoyed a complimentary meal, generously provided by Panda Cares.
A special thank you to YOLA at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) for providing such a welcoming space for our youth. This event not only provided an opportunity for learning and growth, but also strengthened our partnerships.
