On Saturday, March 28, 2015, KYCC’s Prevention Education and Environmental Services Unit held a Community Beautification Day in collaboration with the Youth Policy Institute (YPI), LAPD Olympic Station, and the Olympic Neighborhood Watch. Over 100 participants of all ages joined in the effort to improve their community conditions through garbage and bulky items collection, graffiti removal, and tree maintenance. With these efforts, community members raised awareness about providing a healthy and safe environment for all families. The event could not have been a success without the support from Alianza Magnolia, Bravo CSF, Leo Politi Neighborhood Association, Christian Fraternity of California, YPI’s Gang Reduction Youth Development, and KYCC’s Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Program (YDAPP). We would like to thank Starbucks and McDonald’s for their generous food donations.
