The Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program (APISBP) is hosting its 16th<\/sup> Annual Asian Small Business Expo on Sat., Sept. 19, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Almansor Court Banquet and Conference Center in Alhambra.<\/p>\n

The Expo is highlighting the food industry with this year\u2019s theme, \u201cIngredients for Success.\u201d The Keynote Speaker is food activist Robert Egger, Founder and President of L.A. Kitchen, a local nonprofit that redistributes food waste, provides culinary job training and operates a meal-service program. A panel of three women entrepreneurs\u2014Annie Choi, Diep Tran and Lan Ong\u2014will discuss funding opportunities and the L.A. food scene.<\/p>\n

Jerome Horton, Chairman of the California Board of Equalization, will make a special guest appearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI highly encourage those who are incubating or expanding their businesses to come learn and connect with other small business owners,\u201d says KYCC Business Counselor Young-Gi Harabedian. \u201cIn business, it is not only about what you know, but who you know \u2013 come out and network!\u201d<\/p>\n

Over 200 participants have already registered for the Sept. business-to-business event. Exhibitors include financial organizations, franchises, and governmental and legislative representatives. There will be free admission, free Parking and free Workshops.<\/p>\n

KYCC\u2019s Small Business Development program is one of five API community-based organizations in the Los Angeles area in the APISBP consortium. The other four include Chinatown Service Center, Little Tokyo Service Center, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans and Thai Community Development Center.<\/p>\n
