KYCC recognized four outstanding individuals who demonstrated a strong commitment to the advancement of our mission at the Staff Picnic on Friday, June 14, 2013!<\/p>\n
Juggling two programs each day,\u00a0Paul Kim\u00a0is the guru of adjusting to new environments. He becomes the teacher that each program needs, adapting to the child\u2019s age and developmental stage. He can count from 1 to 10 with the preschoolers at the Children\u2019s Center and from 1000 to infinity with the youth in the Elementary Tutorial Program. Saving the day at each program, he is the superhero of early childhood education!<\/p>\n
If you asked any of the youth from the Environmental Services Intern program what their favorite part of the experience was, the answer would be unanimous. It wasn\u2019t just\u00a0planting trees in the Angeles National Forest, hiking the Santa Monica Mountains, or meeting the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. No, the answer would be Christopher Hammond, who brought his patient demeanor and genuine attitude to the youth, giving them a great example of who a community leader should be and what KYCC is all about.<\/p>\n
Andrea Yi\u00a0has been in the Clinical Unit since July 2012. Since then, she has proven herself as a valuable KYCC employee through her work ethic and dedication towards the families she serves. Her value is also apparent to the other collaborative and social agencies where managers and supervisors have gone out of their way to express their appreciation for her work.<\/p>\n
For the past year and a half,\u00a0Cristina Zuniga\u00a0has worn many \u201chats\u201d in the Youth Services unit. Her flexibility, skill set and cheerful disposition have allowed her to serve diverse populations effectively, whether teaching life skills to middle school students, coaching volunteers as mentors to younger students, or providing critical case management services to residents who are new to permanent supportive housing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
