On May 14, KYCC Prevention Educations\u2019s Coalition (CoPALM<\/a>) collaborated with Vista Charter Middle School<\/a> to host a youth forum for National Prevention Week. This year National Prevention Week was held from May 12 through 18, and is a national public education platform to celebrate year-round prevention initiatives, promote substance use prevention, and encourage positive mental health.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In partnership with Korean American Family Services<\/a> (KFAM), Children\u2019s Hospital Los Angeles<\/a>, Institute for Public Strategies<\/a>, Behavioral Health Services<\/a>, Social Model Recovery Systems<\/a>, and The Wall Las Memorias Project<\/a>, the youth forum shared information about the harms associated with alcohol and cannabis use, to promote education amongst youth for National Prevention Week. <\/span><\/p>\n

The event brought together 45 8th grade students, all of whom were able to participate in an information session regarding cannabinoids and current issues regarding cannabis products, in addition to a youth discussion session and interactive booths.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together with our community partner organizations, CoPALM addresses substance use among youth, advocating for positive change to prevent substance use and foster supportive environments for our communities.<\/span><\/p>\n
