On Feb. 27, KYCC’s Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Program (YDAPP) presented its latest video, \u201cMy\u201d Story. This video shows the positive impact of empowering youth through second chances and opportunities to overcome substance abuse.<\/p>\n
\u201cI put my education at risk. I put my future at risk. It was then that I decided that all this partying, drinking and smoking were not worth it,\u201d explained Bryan Hurtado Zaragoza, KYCC Youth Development Specialist and YDAPP\u00a0Leader, about his past battles with substance abuse. \u201cI\u2019m glad I was given a second chance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Since 1996, YDAPP has raised awareness on the risks of substance abuse to Koreatown\u00a0youth through creative projects, surveys and education on tobacco and alcohol trends.\u00a0KYCC is working in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public\u00a0Health, Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Division, in addressing underage drug use.
