The program strived to make Menlo Family Apartments more eco-friendly through water conservation efforts. During the program, KYCC hoped to foster leadership in the families of Menlo Apartments to take initiative in their community. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the program, KYCC hoped to foster leadership in the families of Menlo Apartments to take initiative in their community.Over 25 volunteers participated in this beautification project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior to the program, 500 gallons of water per week were being used to maintain the lawn. By the end of the program, the amount of water used for the irrigation system was reduced to 200 gallons per week\u2014an over 50 percent reduction in water waste.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI have not worked on a lawn since my daughter moved to Seattle.
