KYCC’s Small Business Development Program<\/a> hosted a free, two-day Financial Management Seminar from June 19 through June 20. Funded by Cathay Bank<\/a>, the oldest Chinese-American bank in Southern California, the workshop covered a variety of topics such as entrepreneurial planning and understanding capital and banking services for small businesses. Business owners and aspiring business owners in the Koreatown community were encouraged to attend this workshop on how to start, manage and grow their own business.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00abI’ve been thinking about starting a business but I have not been able to figure out where to start and how to prepare for it. So it was hard for me to put it into practice. I learned about financial management at this seminar, and it has been helpful,\u00bb said a participant.<\/p>\n

60 Korean-American entrepreneurs attended the Financial Management Seminar and gained essential knowledge on starting and growing a small business. KYCC’s Community Economic Development program is committed to assisting small business owners in Koreatown by increasing access to resources, skills and knowledge for recently-immigrated aspiring entrepreneurs. KYCC\u2019s Small Business Development program offers workshops and one-on-one counseling for Korean American and Koreatown businesses.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Andy Kim, KYCC’s Small Business Counselor said, \u00abMany Korean small business owners have shown a lot of enthusiasm for this seminar. They are eager to learn how to manage their bookkeeping and access to financial services as business owners or potential business owners. And I’m proud that KYCC is able to help them expand business opportunities and make their entrepreneurial dreams a reality.\u00bb<\/p>\n
