This Halloween, KYCC youth trick-or-treated from office to office to receive goodie bags donated by LA Works\u2019 Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).<\/p>\n

RSVP is a volunteer program for elders over 55 who are interested in sharing their skills and wisdom through various volunteer opportunities across Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

This year \u2014 knowing that many children’s trick-or-treat plans would be halted due to COVID-19 \u2014 RSVP reached out to KYCC Youth Services<\/a>. A call was put out by LA Works for 50 Halloween-themed bags and, to KYCC’s surprise, were overwhelmed to receive hundreds of artfully decorated bags from RSVP volunteers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so thankful for all the volunteers who donated their time and effort to creating such cute and creative goodie bags for our students. Many of our students were sad and dispirited upon knowing that they wouldn\u2019t be able to trick or treat like they normally do on Halloween,\u00bb said Youth Services Supervisor Presilla Kim. \u00abHaving countless numbers of goodie bags and candy arrive at our site almost unendingly really cheered up our kids and even more so when they got to take them home.\u00bb<\/p>\n

KYCC extends their gratitude to RSVP for keeping the spirit of Halloween alive with their donations and for creating a sense of normalcy for our youth.\u00a0<\/p>\n
