Volunteer with KYCC’s Environmental Team!

KYCC has many community-led volunteer projects.  These fun, family-friendly events typically run from 9 a.m. to noon and involve tree planting, graffiti removal, and community beautification.  If you would like to volunteer with us, please see our opportunities listed below.

For more information on any of our volunteer opportunities, please contact KYCC’s us here.

Become a Volunteer Team Leader

KYCC’s community volunteer events are fantastic because of the help of our dedicated Volunteer Team Leaders (VTL).  VTLs are the backbone of our community events, by providing support to KYCC staff and supervising other volunteers. If you are looking to be a leader in your community, and can make a long-term commitment to help others to beautify Los Angeles, we want you on our team! VTLs must attend a half-day Saturday training and be 14 years and older. We would like for VTLs to attend at least three events per year.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Let KYCC’s Environmental Services team create a fun, hands-on, and meaningful group volunteer experience in Koreatown!  Whether you have a group of 10 or 100, KYCC will work with you to create a service experience that builds your team and meets your community engagement goals.

During a KYCC group beautification project, a dedicated staff member will train and supervise your team. We take care of all city permits, and supply all the necessary tools and safety equipment.  Typical service projects include graffiti removal, tree planting, tree care, and other community beautification activities.

Join us at one of our upcoming events.

Or, if you are interested in hosting your own event, please contact us here.

Participate in our Annual Cleanup Day

We host an annual large community cleanup day with our neighbors and friends. We are passionate about keeping our streets clean in Koreatown, Westlake and Pico-Union! We provide all the tools and equipment to paint, pressure wash, pull weeds and pick up trash. Join us and our community friends and neighbors!

Internship Opportunities

The Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) is one of the leading organizations that plants trees in the City of Los Angeles and we can use your help!  Whether it’s assisting in our free tree distributions, leading a team of volunteers, supporting our tree planting or beautification events, removing graffiti, or helping around the office we have a job for you.  Our internship is ideal for students, people that are passionate about environmental issues, or those looking to develop professional skills.  Interns must be at least 18 years old and be able to commit at least 12 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.
