  • Tree Planting:  KYCC’s Tree Planting crews install FREE street trees throughout Koreatown and central Los Angeles to help buffer the interface between automobile and pedestrian traffic.  KYCC places emphasis on planting trees near schools and in all areas that are currently low-canopy.  All tree planting is done in accordance with policies established by the Urban Forestry Division.  In 2007, KYCC planted over 1,600 street trees.  For more information, please email trees@kyccla.org or call 213-743-8750.
  • Tree Distribution through Million Trees Los Angeles:  KYCC assists in various ways with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s “Million Trees Los Angeles” program.  Through this program, several options for receiving FREE trees are available to property owners in Los Angeles.  For more information, please call Irma Garcia at 213-743-8750.
  • At-risk Youth Environmental Steward Program:  KYCC employs three At-risk Youth Environmental Stewards to provide education and outreach for all of KYCC’s tree planting activities.  This includes performing door-to-door canvassing, providing tree care education to residents, maintenance of recently planted trees, and participating in trainings led by the City of Los Angeles, Urban Forestry Division.  For more information, please call Dore Burry at 213-743-8750.
  • Tree Care and Maintenance Services:  KYCC provides “post-planting” tree care services for community groups, Neighborhood Councils, and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).  These services include watering at regular intervals, rebuilding berms, re-staking, and adjustment of ties.  For more information, please call Dore Burry at 213-743-8750.
  • Graffiti Removal:  KYCC crews remove graffiti seven days a week throughout Koreatown.  KYCCupholds “zero tolerance”standards against graffiti for Koreatown residents and business owners in the form of free graffiti removal services in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles, Office of Community Beautification (OCB).  Each month, KYCC removes over 50,000 square feet of graffiti.  Most graffiti is removed within a 24-hour time framefrom both public and private locations.  Requestsfor service can be made by calling the City hotline (311) or by emailing cleanup@kyccla.org. For more info, call Isaias Beles at 213-743-8750.
  • Community Cleanup:  KYCC performs over 100 small- to medium-size cleanups every year, resulting in over 4,000 bags of trash being removed from the streets.  Cleanups focus on areas around parks, schools, and major corridors.  Some cleanups are performed by volunteers while others are with corporate partners.  For more information, email cleanup@kyccla.org or call 213-743-8750.
