Koreatown’s economic progress is inextricably linked to the financial well-being its community members. On behalf of Koreatown Youth and Community Center, we welcome you to learn about the number of Economic Development programs and services that are offered in Koreatown.

- Consumer Advocacy: This program specializes in educating our community about new telecommunication services such as cell phones, home phones and internet services. Also, KYCC may help you with resolving billing errors and reducing utility payments through Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison.
- Financial Case Management: KYCC’s latest approach to financial security is to provide personalized financial coaching and case management for each family in need. KYCC’s trained financial coaches have knowledge of personal finance topics as well as experience on how to support families in making sound financial decisions and to change behaviors. Financial Coaching and Case Management program also includes screening for public benefits, referrals to social services, developing financial action plan, and other services required to improve family financial security.
- Financial Education & Asset Building: We understand that financial education is a life long process that, for most people, requires assistance of counselors, bankers, public schools and institutions outside of the home. KYCCs commitment to developing strong financial management skills is a year long service and with an obligation to work with all age groups and communities.
- Free Income Tax Preparations: The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provides free income tax preparation to families making $50,000, or less. IRS trained and certified volunteers help prepare returns from late January to April. Our goal is to ensure that all families claim their tax refund and take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit, a credit that can be as high as $5,600 and is often overlooked.
- Small Business Technical Assistance: KYCCs Small Business Program serves the needs of small business owners by providing assistance with specific problems and general business concerns to enhance the business and economic development of the Koreatown Community.
