KYCC’s Leaders in Enrichment & Academic Development (LEAD) provides leadership development for high school-aged and older youth who are recruited as mentors for KYCC’s Crossroads Middle School Program (MSP). These “LEADers” aid staff with daily program facilitation and curriculum diversification. Since 2011, MSP offered biweekly clubs coordinated entirely by LEADers for our participants. During the school year and over summer break, KYCC enrolls 30 to 40 LEADers to demonstrate for our younger participants that learning can be fun when you are in good company.
