On the evening of June 15, KYCC held a banquet to celebrate and honor the youth in our programs who contribute many hours to our organization and the community. This end-of-the-year celebration was hosted by the neighboring Wilshire Boulevard Temple, who graciously provided their patio and food for the event.

Assemblymember Miguel Santiago awarded each of our high school seniors with $100 scholarships for their academic endeavors.

“Being awarded by the State Assemblymember Miguel Santiago on behalf of the 53rd District made me feel appreciated and loved by my community,” said Devin Jones, a Menlo Youth Group member. “This award inspires me to continue working with my community to make it an even better place.”

Over 60 KYCC youth attended, participants from the Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Program (YDAPP), Menlo Youth Group, and Bridge—three groups where young people have the opportunity to volunteer at our Elementary Tutorial Program (ETP), and/or in civic engagement activities in Pico Union, Westlake and Koreatown.
