ETP is a program of KYCC which utilizes a variety of methods to encourage students to grow and thrive. We believe there are key factors in a student’s life that ensures their success: self-confidence, self-esteem, a strong social and academic network of peers, and healthy relationships with an adult/mentor. With this philosophy as the foundation to our curriculum, every student has access to the following:
• Academic support – on basic fundamentals of math, reading, language, writing, social studies and science according to the student’s grade level.
• Community Time – activities to create a sense of community within the classroom to increase Student’s social skills, including group discussions, activities, and team-building games.
• Life skills workshops and discussions – with special guest speakers such as librarians, health educators, financial literacy educators, etc.
• Enrichment activities – such as arts and crafts, puzzles, hands-on science, games, role-playing, and a community garden.
