Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing development activities for the agency including grantwriting, special events, workplace giving, individual donor campaigns, marketing and communications for the organization as part of the Development Team.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Participating in grantwriting efforts;
  • Assisting with KYCC's special events;
  • Coordinating KYCC's participation in workplace giving campaigns;
  • Assisting in all individual giving and major donor activities;
  • Assisting with marketing, communications, and external relations; and
  • Other related assignments and projects as directed by the Director of Development.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
  • A college degree in English, marketing or related field from an accredited university or college. Two years of college with two years of experience in development may be substituted for the college degree;
  • Demonstrable working skill in the use and operation of personal computers for word processing and spreadsheet applications;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills;
  • Self-directing, good follow through, and ability to work independently;
  • Ability to organize and prepare documentation in a timely manner;
  • Attention to details and process oriented;
  • Ability to work with people with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds and strong commitment to working with a multicultural community;
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment;
  • Good command of the English language and strong public speaking skills; and
  • Valid California Driver License, proof of auto insurance and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years paid work experience in development at a nonprofit organization;
  • Experience in the development and use of database and/or publishing applications; and
  • Bilingual capacity (Korean/English or Spanish/English).
